Our client, a growing private equity-backed industrial services company, is seeking a Payroll Manager to take ownership of payroll for a 230+ employee, multi-state workforce. Reporting directly to the CFO, you'll step into a highly visible role due to a planned retirement and have the opportunity to modernize payroll operations, implement best practices, and build a scalable payroll function as the company continues to expand through acquisitions.

Own the full-cycle weekly payroll process for approximately 230–250 employees across multiple states.

Ensure payroll accuracy across varying pay rates, job codes, labor allocations, and employees working across multiple job sites and states.

Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.

Reconcile payroll data and support reporting between Sage 300 and ADP.

Partner with Accounting and Finance on payroll reconciliations and financial reporting.

Identify opportunities to automate manual payroll processes and improve efficiency.

Develop standardized payroll procedures and documentation.

Support future payroll system implementations and process improvement initiatives.

Help build scalable payroll operations as the company continues its acquisition-driven growth.

7+ years of progressive full-cycle payroll experience.

Strong experience processing complex multi-state payroll.

In-depth knowledge of payroll taxes, wage laws, and payroll compliance.

Experience with multiple pay rates, job costing, labor allocations, or project-based payroll is a plus.

Payroll implementation or system conversion experience is highly desirable.

Experience within construction, industrial services, manufacturing, engineering, or other project-based environments is preferred.

Experience with Sage 300 and/or ADP is a plus.

Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent payroll experience will also be considered.
