We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Assistant Store Manager to join our retail team! Responsibilities
- Assist in managing daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Lead, supervise, and motivate team members to achieve sales targets and deliver excellent customer service.
- Oversee inventory management, including stock replenishment, merchandising, pricing accuracy, and inventory control.
- Support recruiting efforts by participating in interviewing candidates and onboarding new employees.
- Coordinate employee training and development programs to enhance team skills and knowledge.
- Manage scheduling shifts effectively to ensure optimal coverage during peak hours while maintaining labor budgets.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly to maintain high satisfaction levels.
- Assist with marketing initiatives, promotional displays, and store merchandising strategies to boost sales.
- Maintain accurate records of sales transactions, payroll processing, bookkeeping tasks, and other administrative duties.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety standards while fostering a positive shopping environment.
Skills
- Proven experience in retail management or assistant manager roles with supervising responsibilities.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and foster a collaborative environment.
- Excellent communication skills in multiple languages; bilingual abilities are a plus!
- Proficiency in POS systems, retail math, pricing strategies, and sales management techniques.
- Skilled in inventory management, stock control, purchasing, and merchandising practices.
- Competent in employee orientation, training & development programs, and interviewing techniques.
- Sound knowledge of payroll processing, bookkeeping, budgeting, and cash handling procedures.
- Ability to multitask efficiently with excellent organizational skills and time management.
- Experience with marketing initiatives within a retail setting; familiarity with wireless sales or grocery store operations is advantageous.
- Strong customer service orientation combined with phone etiquette skills for effective communication with clients.
