Job Summary: The Human Resources (HR) Specialist is responsible for supporting Valor’s workforce needs primarily through the talent acquisition process/full life cycle recruitment, including preparing job descriptions, sourcing candidates, screening resumes, communicating/contacting, interviewing and selecting, extending offers with negotiations and contingency requirements, and gainfully onboarding the new hire. The ideal candidate must be committed to objectively attracting, supporting, and retaining employees while ensuring the organization remains compliant with employment laws and maintains a positive and professional workplace culture. This role will also assist with employee relations, benefits administration, training, compliance, and implementing HR policies in a pleasant and cordial manner.
This position requires use of information and data which is subject to US Export Regulations, including but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), 22 C.F.R. 120 et seq., and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), 15 C.F.R. 730 et seq. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S Government.
Key Responsibilities:

Receive, screen all incoming telephone calls and connect them to appropriate contact.

Recruit, interview, hire, and onboard team members, including scheduling related events and coordinating calendars with Hiring Managers or Payroll.
- Responsible for managing staffing and recruiting strategies for assigned recruitment, including compensation data.

Monitor New Hire Enrollments and assist with annual Open Enrollment and other benefit offering transactions or events.
- Draft and transmit offer letters and other related memoranda to applicants regardless of recorded ATS disposition.
- Maintain the integrity of all job descriptions and endeavor to review and revise them consistently. Ensure proper retention via appropriate SharePoint site and folders.
- Maintain internal and external job postings/announcements across multiple platforms.
- Maintain the Company's online career page and contribute to website design efforts.
- Ensure bulletin boards and labor law posters are current and comply with all federal/state/local laws.
- Conduct new hire orientation and exit interviews.

Draft and enforce compliance with job instructions, policies and procedures.

Demonstrate urgency regarding employee leave requests and monitor requisite tracking.

Participate in conflict resolution, including employee relations issues and workplace investigations.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.

Coordinate and/or facilitate training and professional development programs.

Maintain digital employee records and physical HR documentation using various office products and machines.

Support establishing individual employees and overall company’s performance management goals.

Support HR Operations and associated KPIs and metrics.
- Keep HR Office team member(s) informed of issues and resolutions in an effective, accurate, and timely manner and support other HR staff members with projects, workload, etc. as needed.

Build rapport throughout the workforce and ensure the HR Office is responsive and welcoming.
- Use discretion and maintain confidentiality when handling documents and engaging in workplace-related conversations on premises or elsewhere.

Support Lean 5S initiatives to achieve a workplace that is clean, uncluttered, safe, and well organized to help reduce waste and optimize productivity.

Minimum Qualifications:

Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language, including legalese and acronyms.

Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field; depending on qualifications two or more years of dedicated HR experience may be substituted for education requirement. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply!
