Position Overview
Rock Steady Productions is seeking a dependable and motivated Powder Coater Helper to join our metal fabrication and finishing team. This is a hands-on role supporting the preparation, coating, and finishing of custom metal components.
This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and eager to learn the powder coating process in a fast-paced production environment. You will work closely with experienced Powder Coaters and have the opportunity to grow into a Powder Coater role over time.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with surface preparation for powder coating, including cleaning, sanding, masking, and hanging parts
- Support powder coating operations by loading and unloading parts from racks and curing ovens
- Assist in operating and maintaining powder coating equipment and spray booths under supervision
- Inspect finished parts for quality, coverage, and defects; communicate issues to the Powder Coater or Supervisor
- Move, stage, and organize materials before and after coating
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Follow all PPE and workplace safety requirements
- Collaborate with fabrication and project teams to meet production deadlines
Qualifications
- Spanish Speaking
- Previous experience in a shop, paint, finishing, or manufacturing environment preferred (powder coating experience is a plus, but not required)
- Basic familiarity with hand tools, sanding tools, and shop equipment
- Willingness to learn powder coating techniques and equipment operation
- Comfortable working in warm environments and wearing PPE
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform physical labor
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Forklift certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Schedule
- 8-hour shifts
- Monday through Friday
- Occasional evening or weekend work based on project needs
