JOB DESCRIPTION: Immunization Nurse
Seattle Visiting Nurse Association (SVNA) is looking to hire several full-time (20-40 hours a week) nurses for our fall immunization season; This includes both influenza (flu) and Covid-19 booster vaccinations. Our vaccination season will begin September 14, 2026, with a REQUIRED 2-hour training and orientation in late-August 2026 in Edmonds, WA. It is a temporary job (8-12 weeks) and pays between $48-$55 an hour. SVNA employs RN's and LPN/LVN's to provide Flu & COVID-19 booster vaccinations. SVNA offers two different clinic types: (1) corporate clinics and (2) mass vaccination clinics. Our RN’s and LPN/LVN’s who work our corporate clinics are equipped with both supplies and vaccinations to autonomously host a vaccination clinic with their peers.
We serve a majority of western Washington; from Olympia to Everett. Areas primarily served include, but are not limited to, Seattle Metro area, Snohomish County, East side of Lake Washington (primarily Bellevue, Redmond, and Kirkland), and South King County (Renton, Kent, Auburn). This year we are expanding our clinics to both Pierce and Thurston County. The position is temporary in nature and is ideal for nurses who may be taking a career break, wish to supplement income or working hours, want to keep up nursing skills, or are semi-retired/active retired. This temporary, per diem, non-benefited position provides scheduling flexibility.
PATIENT AGES:
- Flu: 4 years and older
- Covid: 5 years and older
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Safely administer vaccines at corporate, private, or community clinics to patients four years old through adults, or in adherence to the FDA and CDC recommendations.
- Communicate clearly and effectively.
- Maintain clinical supplies and track daily temperatures for personally stored vaccine.
- Provide education to patients regarding vaccine indications and side effects.
- Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and dependability.
- Ability to lift to 20-25 pounds intermittently including safely transferring/maneuvering supplies in and out of a vehicle, to and from clinic sites.
- Ability to drive a vehicle to and from clinic sites.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Active and unencumbered Washington state Nursing license.
- Demonstrated excellent verbal communication skills, organization ability and customer service focus.
- Current CPR or BLS Certification.
- Access to a car, the ability to drive, and car insurance.
- Drivers license & passport (or passport card).
- Hepatitis B vaccination.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
POSITION TYPE: Temporary/Hourly
HOURLY PAY: $ 48.00 - $55.00 per hour
· We pay our hourly rate for any total travel time exceeding 1-hour.
· We reimburse mileage at $ .73/mile for any total over 20-miles total.
