Subway® Manager
We are currently hiring for our Subway® restaurant located at 1401 University Avenue, Madison, WI. This location is situated on the beautiful campus of the University of Wisconsin–Madison and offers unique perks that many quick-service restaurants do not.
Unlike many restaurant locations, we are closed on all major holidays, allowing for better work-life balance. Our team is primarily comprised of college students, creating a fun, energetic, and team-oriented environment.
About the Role
As part of the Subway® Team, the Manager plays a vital role in delivering operational excellence and leading the restaurant team to success. This position focuses on driving sales, ensuring food quality, maintaining safety standards, and providing an outstanding guest experience.
Primary Responsibilities
Managers focus on eight key areas:
Delivering an exceptional guest experience
Ensuring high-quality food is prepared and served
Maintaining a clean, functional, and visually appealing restaurant
Managing inventory and cash control systems
Coordinating local marketing and community outreach initiatives
Recruiting, training, and developing staff
Upholding restaurant safety and security standards
Demonstrating strong teamwork and leadership
Daily Operational Duties
In addition to core management responsibilities, daily activities include:
Recruiting, training, and rewarding outstanding Team Members
Ensuring compliance with local and national health and food safety regulations
Maintaining accurate business records and analyzing performance to increase sales
Identifying and contacting prospective guests to promote catering and in-store sales
Supporting local and national marketing campaigns and preparing the restaurant for new promotional windows
Planning and executing special events and promotional activities

Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all team levels
Strong computer proficiency
Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
Physical Requirements
Ability to work in all areas of the restaurant as needed
Proficient in operating a computerized Point of Sale (POS) system/cash register
Ability to stand and walk for the entire workday
Frequent bending and movement throughout shifts
Ability to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally
