Duties
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and observe for any changes in health status, reporting findings accurately to healthcare professionals
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding as required, ensuring safety during meal times
- Administer medications following prescribed care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality
- Support clients with medication administration, documentation, and maintaining accurate records of care provided
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance mental well-being.
- Assist with transportation for medical appointments or community outings using safe personal transportation methods.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing personal spaces.
- Taking patient to all errands necessary and to their classes and to their activities that enhance their physical and mental wellbeing.
- Caretaker must be able to stay and dedicate their time from beginning to end And making sure that doesn’t ever leave early.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working in home health, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or group homes; experience with geriatrics and hospice care is highly valued
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, memory care, and neurodevelopmental disorders support
- Familiarity with care plans, medication management, patient monitoring, vital signs measurement, and first aid/CPR certification
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting safely and effectively using proper patient transfer methods like Hoyer lifts
- Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and documentation while respecting residents’ rights under HIPAA guidelines
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or intellectual disabilities is a plus. Holding a CPI ( crisis prevention intervention) certificate is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license or reliable transportation for assisting clients outside the home environment
- Compassionate attitude combined with a proactive approach to caregiving duties ensures excellent client support
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
