Position Summary
The Flooring Sales & Project Manager is responsible for generating sales, managing customer relationships, and overseeing flooring projects from initial consultation through final installation. This role combines sales expertise with project management skills to ensure exceptional customer service, accurate estimating, profitable project execution, and successful project completion.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, customer-focused, knowledgeable about flooring products and installation processes, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Develop and maintain relationships with homeowners, builders, contractors, designers, and commercial clients.
- Conduct consultations to understand customer needs and recommend appropriate flooring solutions.
- Prepare accurate estimates, proposals, and contracts.
- Follow up on leads, inquiries, and pending proposals.
- Maintain a strong pipeline of new and existing business opportunities.
- Stay current on flooring products, industry trends, and competitor offerings.
- Meet or exceed quarterly sales goals.
Project Management
- Coordinate flooring projects from sale through completion.
- Schedule site visits and conduct field measurements as needed.
- Order materials and verify product specifications.
- Coordinate installation schedules with customers, installers, and subcontractors.
- Monitor project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Resolve project issues, change orders, and customer concerns promptly.
- Conduct final walkthroughs to ensure customer satisfaction and project completion.
Customer Service
- Serve as the primary point of contact throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide timely updates regarding scheduling, materials, and project progress.
- Address customer questions and concerns professionally.
- Ensure a positive customer experience resulting in referrals and repeat business.
Administrative & Operational Duties
- Maintain accurate customer and project records.
- Track project costs, margins, and profitability.
- Process purchase orders, invoices, and change orders.
- Collaborate with accounting regarding billing and collections.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and industry regulations.
- Prepare reports on sales activity, project status, and performance metrics.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3+ years of experience in flooring sales, construction sales, project management, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of flooring products, including carpet, hardwood, laminate, vinyl, tile, and commercial flooring.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, Marketing, or a related field.
- Experience measuring and estimating flooring projects.
- Knowledge of installation methods and industry best practices.
- Experience working with builders, designers, and commercial clients.

Position Goal: Drive profitable flooring sales while ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest level of customer satisfaction.
Pay: $50,000.00 - $89,142.61 per year
