GENERAL PURPOSE:
Certified Medical Assistants are multi-skilled healthcare professionals who provide clinical and administrative support to providers, ensuring efficient patient flow and quality patient care within the medical clinic.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Escort patients to exam rooms and obtain/document vital signs in the EHR

Schedule referrals and maintain referral tracking
-
Collect and process laboratory specimens
-
Assist providers with patient care, medications, immunizations, and injections
-
Enter orders, update care plans, and maintain accurate EHR documentation
-
Prepare and stock exam rooms and sterilize instruments and equipment
-
Provide patient education as directed by clinicians
-
Support infection control and clinic safety procedures
-
Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities
-
Communicate professionally with patients, staff, and the public
-
Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
-
High School Diploma or GED required
-
Completion of a Medical Assistant Training Program required

Current Medical Assistant Certification required
-
Current CPR certification required
-
Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills
-
Ability to maintain confidentiality and work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Familiarity with outpatient clinic procedures preferred
WORK ENVIRONMENT & REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and push up to 100 lbs.

Frequent standing, bending, reaching, kneeling, and repetitive hand movements

Adequate vision, hearing, and manual dexterity required

Exposure to Aerosol Transmitted Diseases (ATD) and Bloodborne Pathogens (BBP) may occur
