American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Psychiatric Services position in Maine, requiring at least 1 year of mental health nursing experience and current CPI certification.

Work in an Emergency Psychiatric Services department within a hospital setting recognized as one of New England's most comprehensive behavioral healthcare facilities
-
Patient population includes individuals age 5 and up with psychiatric illnesses including major depression, bipolar disorder, adjustment disorder, and psychotic disorders; some patients may also require medical care or detoxification services

Night shift schedule: 7p–7a

13-week contract

Flexibility required to provide coverage 24 hours/day, 7 days/week

Active Maine RN license (or compact equivalent) currently in hand — no licensure violations or hits on record

Current certifications: BLS and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI)

Minimum 1 year of mental health nursing experience required

Associate's degree (2-year) in Nursing required

Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

Ability to manage stress and make sound decisions under pressure

Responsible for developing and updating individualized, interdisciplinary care plans and evaluating patient outcomes

Identifies and connects patients with available community and facility resources as part of the care process

CPI training must be current prior to start
