OSafety Coordinator (Bilingual)
As a Safety Coordinator, you will support the development and execution of workplace safety initiatives while partnering with facility leadership, supervisors, and team members to maintain a safe, compliant, and productive work environment. This role will focus on employee training, safety program coordination, incident prevention, and continuous improvement efforts that promote a strong safety culture.
The ideal candidate will be bilingual in English and Spanish and able to effectively communicate safety expectations, procedures, and training materials with a diverse workforce. You will assist in identifying workplace hazards, conducting investigations, supporting compliance requirements, and helping implement programs that reduce risk and improve operational safety.
What You’ll Be Doing
Safety Program Support & Compliance
- Assist with the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of site safety programs, policies, and procedures.
- Support compliance with OSHA requirements, company safety standards, and applicable regulations.
- Identify potential workplace hazards and provide recommendations to improve employee safety.
- Maintain safety documentation, including safety procedures, training records, SDS information, emergency plans, and required reports.
- Support workplace inspections and ensure corrective actions are identified and completed.
- Monitor facility conditions, including housekeeping, equipment safety, PPE availability, and safe work practices.
Employee Training & Safety Awareness
- Provide bilingual safety training and guidance to employees, ensuring safety expectations are clearly understood.
- Assist with new employee onboarding, including safety orientations, PPE requirements, certifications, and workplace procedures.
- Coordinate hands-on training with supervisors and team leads to ensure employees are properly prepared for assigned tasks.
- Conduct safety meetings, toolbox talks, and safety observations to encourage safe behaviors.
- Promote a positive safety culture by recognizing employees and teams who demonstrate strong safety practices.
Incident Investigation & Prevention
- Assist with workplace injury and incident investigations to determine root causes and recommend preventative actions.
- Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, corrective actions, and follow-up activities.
- Partner with leadership to ensure corrective and preventative measures are completed in a timely manner.
- Support modified duty assignments and return-to-work processes by communicating requirements and restrictions.
- Assist with reporting related to workplace incidents, property damage, and safety concerns.
Safety Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain safety records, reports, and tracking documentation.
- Assist with injury logs, safety metrics, and compliance reporting.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements that enhance safety, efficiency, and employee engagement.
- Support safety committees, audits, and improvement initiatives.
- Assist with Lean and continuous improvement projects focused on reducing waste and improving workplace practices.
Site Safety Coordination
- Serve as a point of contact for employee safety questions and concerns.
- Coordinate safety training, certifications, and required documentation with internal teams and outside providers.
- Maintain inventory of PPE, first aid supplies, safety materials, and training resources.
- Support leadership with safety initiatives, communication, and employee engagement efforts.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
- Experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or production environment preferred.
- Knowledge of workplace safety practices, OSHA standards, and safety compliance requirements.
- Experience assisting with safety training and incident investigations.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with employees at all levels.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience with Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement principles is a plus.
Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
