Weis Builders is seeking an experienced Traveling General Superintendent to support field operations for our SE and NPG groups, or as otherwise directed by leadership. This role is responsible for supervising and coordinating field activities across multiple projects, ensuring work is completed safely, on or ahead of schedule, on or under budget, and in alignment with Weis Builders’ quality standards.
The Traveling General Superintendent serves as a key field leader and resource for Senior Superintendents, Superintendents, and Assistant Superintendents. This individual will support project teams through regular site visits, schedule review, safety oversight, quality control, issue resolution, workforce planning, and team development.
Safety and Compliance

Perform safety audits during site visits

Ensure Superintendent safety audits are completed weekly

Partner with the Director of Safety on upcoming high risk activities and safety procedures

Review project specific safety plans with site teams

Train Superintendents and Assistant Superintendents on proper safety documentation

Ensure SWPPP compliance measures and documentation are completed
Schedule and Field Operations

Review Superintendents’ 3 to 4 week look ahead schedules, milestones, and master schedules
-
Work with Superintendents to proactively drive project schedules and accelerate targeted completion dates

Review required logs, jump schedules, and intermediate milestone dates

Support planning, sequencing, and troubleshooting with Superintendents and site teams

Discuss workforce and equipment needs with project teams

Prioritize the needs of multiple projects and make workforce placement recommendations

Review T&M, back charges, project cleanliness, and related documentation
-
Attend post mortem meetings as required
Site Visits and Project Support

Establish a site visit schedule with the Vice President of Field Operations based on project needs

Participate in project team meetings and help create strong action items
-
Monitor project team meeting frequency and follow up on action items

Discuss and actively work to resolve project issues with Superintendents and site teams

Ensure scope reviews and contracts are available and being reviewed

Walk job sites to confirm proper construction means and methods are being used

Assist Superintendents with subcontractor and supplier issues

Monitor room finish matrices, quality control logs, and owner or architect punch lists
Quality Control

Ensure Weis Builders’ best practices are being followed

Review and support the quality control log process
-
Drive field teams toward zero item punch lists with documented sign offs before demobilization

Support pre installation meetings, exterior mock walls, and mock room completion

Ensure framing checklists and pre insulation drywall checklists are completed accurately and timely
Communication and Leadership

Provide written site visit updates to the Project Manager, Superintendent, Group Vice President, and Vice President of Field Operations

Communicate findings, concerns, and successes from site visits

Discuss Superintendent and Project Manager performance with the Vice President of Field Operations as it relates to project outcomes

Serve as a consistent resource for Superintendents and Assistant Superintendents

Support issue resolution, coaching, and field team development
Management and Development

Oversee Superintendents and Assistant Superintendents

Support personnel matters, including vacation schedules, performance reviews, retention, and development

Foster an equitable and inclusive workplace

Help ensure Superintendents are aligned with the company’s vision and focused on safety, schedule, quality, and client satisfaction

Establish training topics and schedules for Weis Builders field personnel
-
Work with Assistant Superintendents on learning plans and provide guidance during site visits
Required Qualifications
-
High school diploma or GED
-
Construction Management or Engineering degree preferred, or equivalent experience
-
10 or more years of relevant construction experience
-
10 or more years of supervisory experience
-
Knowledge of multi unit wood framing project types
-
Knowledge and understanding of concrete post tension
-
Thorough knowledge of construction and trade activities, tools, and equipment operation

Ability to travel approximately 75%

Must be based out of the Atlanta, Georgia office

Personal protective equipment is required in accordance with OSHA regulations
