Massage Therapist — Recovery & Wellness Studio (Scarsdale, NY)
$100-200/hour or session rate + tips
Work inside a full recovery ecosystem, not just a treatment room. thebodybar is a premium recovery studio in Scarsdale serving Westchester's most performance- and wellness-driven clients — pairing massage with infrared sauna, cold plunge, red light therapy, and compression therapy. You won't be the only offering in a generic spa lineup; you'll be the clinical anchor of a recovery stack our clients already show up for multiple times a week.
Why This Role Is Different From a Typical Massage Therapist Job
- A built-in client base. Our members already visit weekly for sauna, cold plunge, and compression — massage is the natural upsell, not a cold start. You inherit warm demand.
- Room to specialize, not just rotate. We want a therapist whose modality range — deep tissue, sports, lymphatic, cupping, gua sha, myofascial, craniosacral — becomes a reason clients specifically book you, not "a massage."
- A studio that markets for you — and rewards you for building your own book. We invest in content and paid acquisition to keep the schedule full. Therapists who also enjoy contributing to that (educational content, demonstrating technique, building a following) have real upside here in repeat bookings and referral volume — this is a preferred strength, not a requirement to get hired.
- Affluent, consistent, high-retention clientele. Higher average ticket, higher tip potential, and clients who rebook on a protocol rather than showing up once.
What You'll Do
- Deliver customized, results-driven sessions across deep tissue, sports, lymphatic drainage, and relaxation massage
- Bring at least one differentiating modality — cupping, gua sha, craniosacral, myofascial release, trigger point, or assisted stretching — that sets your sessions apart
- Run brief intake consultations and build simple recovery/treatment plans clients can follow between visits
- Educate clients on how massage fits into their broader recovery routine (sauna, cold plunge, compression) to drive repeat visits
- Maintain treatment rooms, equipment, and client documentation to a premium studio standard
What You Bring

- Comfort being featured in studio content (technique demos, client education) — not mandatory, but directly tied to how fast you build your own schedule here
