Qualifications(What you must have)
- Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry, biology or any other physical science field is required.
- Minimum of 2-5 years of previous experience in an environmental laboratory is preferred.
- Applicant must possess basic laboratory skills.

Goals:
- Be efficient and effective in processing of sample analyses to maximize the number of billable samples.
- Provide input into the revision and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures.
- Validate and sign reports.
- Train personnel, as needed.
Responsibilities & Duties(What must be done)
Primary Objectives:
- Submit accurate, precise, timely, complete and fully documented results per USEPA Method protocols (e.g., SW-846, 600, 500, ARB, AQMD).
- Compliance with required data integrity, QNQC, documentation, security, and Health & Safety.
- Prioritize work, to meet production goals.
- Assist other analysts with sample overload and fill-in for personnel on leave.
Specific Objectives:
- Schedule self to provide effective, efficient, and timely production.
- Schedule work to meet Holding Time and Tum-Around Time.
- Notify client services immediately of potentially compromised analyses -- holding time, due date, etc.
- Ensure analyses are conducted with strict adherence to method protocol and SOPs.
- Ensure analyst submittal of complete, accurate, timely, and organized documentation.
- Ensure maintenance of instrument, supplies, run logs, std logs, etc.
- Review data for completeness (e.g., requested analytes, QA/QC report, raw data, prep. data, CCV, etc.).
- Review data for accuracy (e.g., check analyst calculations, dilutions, sample prep., etc.).
- Review data for reliability (e.g., degradation, tailing, coelution, LCS/LCSD, MS/MSD, Blank, contaminants, etc.)
- Sanity check (e.g., does data make sense-· ion balance, BTEX Eff., etc.).
