American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical-Surgical ICU position requiring TX or compact RN licensure and prior travel nursing experience.

Medical-Surgical ICU setting within a hospital environment
-
Patient ratio of 1:2 to 1:3
-
Day shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM) using block scheduling
-
Uses Epic charting system
-
Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
-
Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS and PALS preferred
-
Minimum 2 years of ICU experience preferred
-
Prior travel nursing experience required
-
Epic charting experience required
-
Previous charge nurse experience preferred
-
Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
-
Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
-
Skilled in ventilator management, ABG interpretation, ETT/NT suctioning, and BiPAP/CPAP management
-
Skilled in titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, continuous IV sedation, and CRRT/CVVHD
-
Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and multisystem organ dysfunction care
-
Experience in Neuro ICU or Surgical ICU work settings preferred
-
Provide critical care nursing to medical-surgical ICU patients including those with complex cardiovascular, neurological, respiratory, and renal conditions

Assist with procedures such as chest tube insertion/removal and manage patients on mechanical ventilation
-
Must complete core onboarding items and labs within 48 hours of contract signing

Complete onsite orientation modules averaging 4-6 hours for RNs
-
No travel pairs or groups accepted for this position

Former permanent staff must wait at least 1 year before returning as a traveler

Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted as locals
-
Candidates residing in the following Texas counties are not eligible: Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, and Morris

All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at time of consideration, with no more than 3 days auto-approved and no RTO permitted during the first week of orientation
