We’re looking for an Operations Manager for our Welding Services team.
This person will be based out of their home office with lots of business travel.
This Operations Manager supports the day to day welding operations of D&Z Welding Services as directed by the Director of D&Z Welding Services. Manages and supervises assigned personnel; both supervisory, skilled and unskilled, engaged in daily operation of the company.
As the Project Manager here’s the work you’ll do:
- Establish and maintain effective strategic and senior customer relationships (including labor) to support the successful completion of the project or contract, while serving as strategic business partner with the ability to identify opportunities for value add activities and continuous improvement
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and provide leadership through establishing expectations and accountability related to the execution of an effective Customer and D&Z safety program for all clients / sites.
- Review company objectives and estimates man-hour and skill requirements to accomplish objectives while preparing and/or assisting other departments. Establish staffing requirements and maintain manpower forecasts for all aspects of operations in all areas of the company as well as troubleshoot poor performing locations.
- Coordinate with other departments, organizational units including contractors. Arrange for and coordinate the acquisition of equipment, materials, supplies, tools, etc. to maintain a sufficient supply for current and forecasted needs
- Prepare cost estimates and evaluate capabilities of in-house versus outside contractors and present status reports
- Identify, attract, develop, and retain talent through effective employee engagement, communication, and performance
This role is for you if you have these skills:
- Technical Knowledge - Expert knowledge of the welding industry and demonstrated technical welding acumen. Ability to solve problems related to the achievement of goals and the barriers that prevent these goals from being achieved
- Leadership and Team Management - Effectively lead and manage groups, delegate responsibilities, plan and coordinate a variety of tasks, solve problems, resolve conflicts, make and implement decisions, and coach others
- Business Aptitude - ability to interpret information, extract results, and develop reports. Ability to develop and execute business strategies to maintain and grow the welding services business
- Build Strategic Client Relationships- Develop and sustain effective long-term business relationships with people (internally and externally) to create value and influence customer buying patterns and increase sales revenue growth and market share
- Communicate with Impact- Clearly and consistently get information across in a timely and effective manner both verbally and in writing. Demonstrate the ability to influence people and get them to take appropriate action
And if you have these qualifications:
- 12+ years experience with welding activities in the nuclear and fossil power industries
- 5+ years nuclear power experience with specific responsibility for planning, directing, and conducting ASME Section XI Repairs, Replacements, and Modifications
In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $124,000 - $186,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of union fringes).
