FULL-TIME MEDICAL ASSISTANT / MEDICAL OFFICE COORDINATOR
Location: Patchogue, NY
Schedule: Monday–Friday, Full-Time
Compensation: $20.00 per hour\
We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our growing medical practice. This is a full-time office position based in Patchogue. This role is not in a hospital or nursing home setting, although our providers care for patients in skilled nursing facilities. You would be lending direct support to the overseeing Providers and Physicians Assistants that work alongside the providers. This position is strictly administrative and does not include any direct clinical care for patients.
The ideal candidate enjoys computer-based work, is highly organized, and can efficiently manage multiple administrative and clinical support tasks.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and complete physician medical documentation and progress notes.
- Assist providers with prescription management and medication reconciliation prior to patient discharge from skilled nursing facilities.
- Process medical billing and related administrative tasks.
- Maintain accurate electronic patient records.
- Coordinate with physicians, physician assistants, pharmacies, nursing staff, and rehabilitation facilities.
- Perform general administrative duties including scanning, filing, data entry, answering phones, and scheduling as needed.
- Ensure all work is completed accurately while maintaining patient confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Previous Medical Assistant or medical office experience preferred.
- Experience with PointClickCare (PCC) and/or Sigma is a strong plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel preferred.
- Excellent computer, typing, and organizational skills.
