Job DescriptionOur established, local HVAC mechanical services company is seeking an experienced, versatile HVAC Service & Installation Technician to serve residential and light commercial clients throughout the greater Sacramento area. This role requires a well-rounded professional who is equally confident hunting down complex electrical/mechanical faults as they are executing clean, code-compliant equipment changeouts. Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Methodically inspect, test, and pinpoint failures in diverse heating and cooling configurations (central air conditioners, heat pumps, furnaces, and ductless mini-split systems).
- System Repair & Maintenance: Perform critical component replacements—including compressors, fan motors, TXV valves, control boards, heat exchangers, and electrical contactors.
- Equipment Installation: Execute seamless full-system changeouts, equipment drop-ins, line-set brazing, sheet metal/flex duct adjustments, and comprehensive startup commissioning.
- Customer Excellence: Clearly communicate diagnostic findings, offer transparent repair or replacement options, and maintain a highly professional, respectful demeanor while in the field.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 3+ years of verifiable hands-on experience handling both field diagnostics/repair and system installations.
- Certifications: Valid EPA Section 608 Certification (Universal or Type II minimum) is required. NATE certification is highly valued.
- Technical Skills: Advanced comprehension of electrical schematics, low-voltage control pathways, refrigeration cycles, and airflow mechanics.
- Logistics & Tools: Must possess a valid California Driver’s License with a clean DMV record. You should own standard field tools of the trade.
Pay: Up to $45.00 per hour
