Description
The General Foreman is responsible for overseeing daily operations at a construction site to ensure the completion of projects in a safe and timely manner.
DUTIES :
- Lead and manage the on-site construction teams, including work schedules, project progress, and resource allocation
- Serve as a liaison between customers, vendors, project managers, and other employees regarding current and future projects
- Responsible for control of crew costs including effective use of manpower, work methods, and operation of equipment
- Work with Project Superintendent to pre-plan work schedules and determine manpower levels, materials and equipment necessary for project productivity
- Coordinate with subcontractors, materials, and equipment deliveries
- Read specifications, such as blueprints to determine construction requirements or to plan procedures
- Set and oversee production goals and daily production tracking.
- Manage equipment and material resources efficiently to minimize downtime and maximize productivity
- Examine and inspect work progress, equipment, and construction sites to verify safety and to ensure that specifications are met
- Conducts safety training of assigned personnel in accordance with safety training procedures
- Investigates accident reports, damage claims, and may be a designated representative to settle minor damage or injury claims
- Complete and submit daily to Superintendent the Foreman Daily Report
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Complies with all policies and standards
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 12 years’ experience
- Must meet standards to qualify for and maintain the Company’s vehicle driving privileges as outlined in the Company’s Motor Vehicle Safety Policy
- Must be able to assess through Burns and McDonnell assessment program
- Must have a valid Driver's License.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, or reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, crawl, push and pull
- Ability to use repetitive hand motions and the ability to grasp and operate field tools and equipment
- Ability to climb on, in or through equipment in confined spaces and elevated work using fall protection harnesses.
- Ability to work long hours with infrequent days off, night shifts, and in adverse climates.
