Job Summary
The Hotel Maintenance Engineer is essential for keeping the hotel's facilities running efficiently. This role involves handling a range of maintenance tasks, ensuring systems, equipment, and property remain in top condition. Working alongside other staff, the Maintenance Technician helps care for all equipment, buildings, and grounds at The Lakeshore Property. Responsibilities include setting up maintenance schedules, maintaining records, performing repairs, and carrying out preventative maintenance duties.
The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, a commitment to customer service, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular hotel inspections for maintenance needs and safety compliance.
- Complete work orders and maintenance tasks promptly, including installing and repairing faucets, blinds, and fixtures.
- Repaint walls, fix furniture, and resolve leaks in bathrooms and kitchens.
- Handle service requests and repairs as assigned through Hotel PMS Software Programs
- Use basic skills to repair or replace doors, windows, walls, floors, ceilings, roofs, furniture, and cabinetry.
- Clean and inspect building systems; report issues and follow safety guidelines.
- Create, maintain and execute against scheduled maintenance and inspection tasks including all electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
- Work with other departments to coordinate maintenance and reduce disruptions.
Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 3–4 years of maintenance experience in the hospitality or hotel industry (required).
- Strong working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general building systems.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and respond to emergency maintenance needs.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various physical positions (standing, bending, climbing ladders).
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade certifications a plus.
- Flexible schedule required – must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
