Job Summary
Priority Student Transport is looking for dependable, safety-conscious drivers to transport students to and from school using sedans. This role is specifically designed for those who are available during the critical morning pickup and afternoon drop-off windows. Unlike hourly positions, we offer a per-trip pay model, allowing you to earn a flat rate for every successfully completed student delivery.
Specific Schedule (The "School Run")
We are looking for drivers available during these peak windows:
- Morning Window: Approximately 6:30 AM – 9:00 AM
- Afternoon Window: Approximately 2:00 PM – 4:30 PM
- Note: This is a split-shift role. You are free during the middle of the day!
DUTIES
1. Safety & Vehicle Operations
- Pre-Trip Inspections: Conduct daily safety checks of the sedan, including tire pressure, fluid levels, brakes, and lights.
- Defensive Driving: Operate the vehicle with extreme caution, strictly adhering to all traffic laws and school-zone speed limits.
- Securement: Ensure all students are properly buckled in. For younger students, this includes verifying that booster seats or car seats are correctly installed and used.
- Route Adherence: Follow designated routes and schedules provided by dispatch to ensure students arrive at school and home on time.
2. Student Supervision & Care
- Door-to-Door Service: Escort students from their front door to the vehicle and from the vehicle to the school entrance (or designated staff member).
- Behavior Management: Maintain a calm and respectful environment inside the sedan. Address any student behavior issues firmly but kindly, according to company policy.
- Health Monitoring: Be observant of students' well-being. This is especially critical for students with special needs or medical conditions.
- Communication: Act as a professional liaison between the company, parents, and school staff. Provide brief, polite updates regarding arrival or any notable events during the trip.
3. Administrative & Compliance
- Digital Logging: Use a mobile app or tablet to check students in and out, track mileage, and record arrival times.
- Incident Reporting: Immediately report any traffic delays, accidents, or student behavioral incidents to the dispatcher.
- Confidentiality: Maintain strict student privacy (FERPA compliance) regarding medical or personal information.
- Sanitization: Keep the interior of the sedan clean and sanitized daily to ensure a healthy environment for students.

- 3rd Party Certified Vehicle Inspection (from any mechanic)
