Job Title: Payroll Systems Specialist
Must Haves
- 2+ years of multi-state U.S. payroll experience.
- Experience with an enterprise payroll system such as Oracle Cloud, PeopleSoft, JDE, or Workday.
- Working knowledge of payroll taxes, payroll accounting, and wage/hour requirements.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills with an interest in learning the technical side of payroll systems.
Pluses
- Oracle Cloud Payroll / Oracle Fusion and/or Oracle Time and Labor experience.
- Canadian payroll experience.
- Payroll system testing and troubleshooting experience, including UAT, issue replication, and working with system/vendor support.
Day to Day
This person will support the client's day-to-day payroll systems operations while developing deeper functional and technical expertise within the environment. Key responsibilities include:
- Manage and troubleshoot payroll and time/labor support tickets, working with employees and internal teams to resolve issues.
- Test payroll system updates, configuration changes, and fixes by replicating issues, documenting results, and validating solutions.
- Work with Oracle Support on more complex system issues, including opening tickets, providing logs/documentation, and testing proposed solutions.
- Partner closely with the manager on technical troubleshooting and configuration, becoming increasingly independent as they learn the client's environment.
- Support upcoming payroll initiatives, including the transition of Canadian payroll into Oracle.
- Balance day-to-day support with ongoing system testing and project work in a fast-moving, growing payroll environment.
The ideal candidate will be proactive, comfortable troubleshooting problems, and excited to grow from a strong functional payroll foundation into the more technical side of payroll systems.
Salary: $75,000–$95,000 annually, commensurate with the candidate's experience.
