APH Marine Construction is a South Florida marine contractor specializing in hybrid seawalls, docks, and waterfront infrastructure. We execute complex projects across Broward and Palm Beach counties and are building a disciplined, scalable operation to support continued growth.
The Role
This is not a back-office bookkeeping role.
We are looking for a Full Charge Bookkeeper / Project Accountant who will take full ownership of the company’s day-to-day financial operations—ensuring our numbers are accurate, our job costs are reliable, and our cash position is always clear.
You will work directly with ownership and play a key role in how the business makes financial decisions.

Core Responsibilities
-Job Cost Tracking — Daily
- Code and record all receipts, credit card transactions, and vendor invoices to the correct job
- Manage phone sales for field crews
- Maintain accurate, real-time job cost data for project and ownership review
- Track committed costs vs. actuals and flag budget variances early
- Cash Flow Management — Weekly
- Prepare and maintain a weekly cash flow report (AR, AP, projections)
- Support ownership in prioritizing disbursements and managing working capital
- Track deposits, draws, and retainage across active projects
- Check Run & Payroll — Weekly
- Execute weekly check runs for subcontractors and vendors
- Process weekly payroll for field and office staff
- Process Ownership & Automation — Ongoing
- Own follow-up systems for receipts, timecards, approvals, and missing documentation
- Hold team members accountable to financial process standards
- Identify and implement automation (receipt capture, AP workflows, reporting)
- Continuously improve systems using Xero, BuilderTrend, and related tools

Qualifications
- 3+ years of full-charge bookkeeping experience (construction strongly preferred)
- Strong understanding of job costing and project-based accounting
- Proficiency in accounting software ie Xero, Quickbooks (BuilderTrend experience a plus)
- Experience managing weekly payroll and vendor disbursements
- Demonstrated ability to build or improve financial processes
- Working knowledge of Florida construction payment workflows
- High attention to detail with consistent follow-through on recurring deadlines
- Strong communication skills and professional persistence in follow-up
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $60,000 – $80,000, based on experience
