Job Summary
Vecel Outdoors is looking for a skilled CAD/CAM Designer to help design and develop innovative outdoor and overland products. This role focuses on creating accurate 3D models, assemblies, technical drawings, and manufacturing-ready files to support prototyping and production.
The ideal candidate is highly proficient in Autodesk Fusion 360, has strong mechanical design skills, and knows how to translate product concepts into manufacturable designs. You’ll work closely with production and leadership to ensure designs are functional, efficient, and built to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Create 3D models and assemblies for new and existing products
- Generate technical drawings and manufacturing documentation
- Prepare CAM toolpaths and CNC-ready files when required
- Collaborate with production to ensure designs are efficient and manufacturable
- Support product development from concept through prototyping and production
- Maintain organized CAD files and version control
- Assist in improving existing product designs
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Fusion 360 for CAD modeling and CAM workflows
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles
- Experience with CNC or manufacturing prep
- Ability to produce technical drawings for fabrication
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently
Preferred:
- Experience designing consumer products or outdoor gear
- Familiarity with sheet materials, aluminum, or composite fabrication
- CAM/CNC programming experience
Compensation
- $60,000 – $70,000 annually, depending on experience
