We’re looking for an experienced Workers’ Compensation Case Manager who understands the workers’ compensation process, knows how to manage an active caseload, and can keep cases organized and moving forward.
About the Role
As a Workers’ Compensation Case Manager, you’ll work closely with our attorneys and clients throughout the lifecycle of their cases. You’ll help manage day-to-day case activity, maintain regular client communication, track deadlines and case developments, coordinate medical treatment and records, and make sure attorneys have the information they need to move cases forward. This role is a good fit for someone who is comfortable managing multiple cases at once, communicates well with clients, and understands how important consistent follow-up and organization are in workers’ compensation matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage an active caseload of workers’ compensation matters from intake through resolution
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and provide regular case updates
- Communicate with clients to gather information, answer general case-related questions, and follow up on outstanding items
- Monitor case activity, deadlines, hearings, appointments, and other important dates
- Coordinate medical treatment, appointments, records, and related documentation
- Communicate with medical providers, insurance carriers, defense counsel, lien claimants, and other parties as needed
- Request, review, organize, and maintain medical records and case-related documents
- Assist with preparing files and supporting documentation for hearings, depositions, evaluations, and settlement discussions
- Monitor WCAB filings, notices, and case statuses
- Maintain accurate and detailed case notes within the firm’s case management system
- Identify outstanding issues and proactively follow up to keep cases moving forward
- Keep attorneys informed of significant case developments and matters requiring attorney attention
- Ensure case files are complete, current, and properly documented
- Assist attorneys and the workers’ compensation team with additional case management responsibilities as needed
What We’re Looking For
- Prior experience as a Workers’ Compensation Case Manager
- Experience working with applicant-side workers’ compensation cases preferred
- Familiarity with the California workers’ compensation process and case lifecycle
- Experience managing an active caseload and communicating directly with clients
- Understanding of medical treatment, medical records, claims documentation, and workers’ compensation case procedures
- Familiarity with WCAB filings, deadlines, hearings, and case-related documentation
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple cases, deadlines, and competing responsibilities
- Comfortable communicating with clients who may be dealing with injuries, treatment issues, and other difficult circumstances
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Google Workspace, and legal case management software
- Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with attorneys and other members of the workers’ compensation team
- Strong follow-through and ability to proactively identify what needs to happen next on a case
