We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Mechanical Assembler to join our production team. In this role, you will be responsible for building, fitting, and assembling mechanical components and sub-assemblies according to technical blueprints and engineering specifications. The ideal candidate has strong manual dexterity, experience working with a variety of hand and power tools, and a commitment to maintaining high quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble complex mechanical units, sub-assemblies, and components using standard hand and power tools.
- Read, interpret, and work accurately from blueprints, BOMs, schematics, engineering drawings, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Position, align, and fasten parts using bolts, screws, rivets, or adhesives.
- Perform basic quality checks and inspections on finished assemblies to ensure they meet engineering tolerances and defect-free standards.
- Identify and report any blueprint discrepancies or component defects to the supervisor or quality assurance team.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace in compliance with 5S and OSHA standards.
- Assist with inventory counts and report low stock levels for critical hardware or components.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 1–3 years of experience in mechanical assembly, manufacturing, or a similar production environment.
- Technical Skills: Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings. Proficiency with hand tools (wrenches, screwdrivers) and power tools (drills, pneumatic drivers, torque wrenches).
- Precision: Solid manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for handling small to medium-sized components. High attention to detail.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods. Capability to safely lift up to [insert weight, e.g., 40 lbs] unassisted.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Technical school certificates are a plus.
- Soft Skills: Dependable team player with strong communication skills and a proactive approach to troubleshooting.
