Job Summary
We are seeking an EXPERIENCED director of teachers/educators to serve as our Director of Summer Camp STEAM Programs. This individual will lead and supervise instructors for our STEAM seasonal program dedicated to providing STEAM projects and activities for 150 children and youth each week. Proven experience in managing other staff, teaching, and youth programming with a strong understanding of leadership and classroom management is required.
Our day camps are located at Vieja Valley Elementary School, from 9am-3:30 pm, with early drop off and after care to 5:30pm. We have 150 students per week.
Responsibilities
- Execute with camp staff and counselors our morning drop off and pick up of campers, after care program, and 12 different pre-programmed full-day CAMPS each week.
- Supervise camp instructors to ensure high-quality program delivery of our weekly camps. Provides direct verbal communication to staff regarding what needs to be done.
- Assist Counselors with effective classroom management strategies to maintain a positive and disciplined environment conducive to learning and fun.
- Ensure all activities adhere to safety standards by overseeing first aid procedures, emergency protocols, and health guidelines.
- Collaborate with CEO, Executive Director to manage and operate program.
- Foster an inclusive atmosphere that celebrates diversity and promotes respectful interactions among staff and children of all backgrounds.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire staff, build collaborative teams, and get things done in an efficient and effective manner..
- Excellent communication skills to engage children, parents, staff, and community partners confidently.
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
