Music Ministry Director

Position Summary
Bethel Missionary Baptist Church is seeking a passionate, organized, and spiritually grounded Music Ministry Director to lead and coordinate our worship and music ministry.
The Music Ministry Director will provide leadership to the choir, musicians, and worship ministry, helping create meaningful worship experiences that support the mission and vision of the church. This individual will work closely with the Pastor and ministry leaders to plan worship services, lead rehearsals, develop volunteers, and foster a culture of excellence, unity, and worship.
The ideal candidate possesses strong musical ability, leadership skills, and the ability to build healthy relationships while guiding others in worship ministry.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead and direct weekly choir rehearsals.
- Coordinate and support musicians and worship participants.
- Assist in planning and preparing worship services.
- Develop and mentor choir members and volunteers.
- Promote a positive, collaborative, and spiritually healthy ministry culture.
- Support special services, seasonal events, and ministry programs as scheduled.
- Work closely with pastoral leadership to ensure worship aligns with the vision of the church.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading choirs, worship teams, or music ministries.
- Strong vocal and/or instrumental proficiency.
- Ability to teach vocal parts and assist choir members in learning music effectively during rehearsals.
- Ability to organize, communicate, and lead effectively.
- Experience working in a church or ministry setting preferred.
- Demonstrated professionalism, reliability, and spiritual maturity.
- Ability to work collaboratively with volunteers, staff, and church leadership.
Typical Schedule
- Weekly Choir Rehearsal (approximately 2 hours)
- Sunday Worship Service (approximately 3 hours)
- Special services and ministry events as scheduled
- Team and Joint Ministry Meetings as scheduled
