Rosewood on the Sound Assisted Living is seeking a reliable, compassionate, and motivated Part-Time Cook to join our Dietary Department. The ideal candidate will enjoy preparing meals for seniors while maintaining high standards of food quality, sanitation, and customer service.
Schedule
- Tuesday: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
- Wednesday: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
- Friday: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
- One Weekend Shift per month: 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Additional hours may be available to cover vacations or call-outs.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve dinner according to the facility menu.
- Assist with meal preparation for upcoming meals as needed.
- Ensure food is prepared safely and served on time.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures.
- Label and store food properly.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen throughout the shift.
- Complete kitchen closing duties.
- Work cooperatively with the dietary team to ensure excellent meal service for residents.
Qualifications
- Previous cooking experience required (assisted living, nursing home, healthcare, restaurant, or catering preferred).
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Food Handler Certificate preferred (or willingness to obtain after hire).
- Ability to work independently while following established menus and recipes.
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance required.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds.
