Christopher Heights of Marlborough, an 83 unit assisted living community, is looking for a team orientated full-time cook to add to our dedicated culinary department.
Work Days: Saturday thru Wednesday. Off on Thursday and Friday
Hours: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM Monday & Tuesday, 6:00 AM -2:30 PM Saturday, Sunday, Wednesday.
Position is required to work every weekend. Must be able to lift, push and pull 50 pounds as well as work within a team. No late nights, with the kitchen closing at 6pm.
Core Responsibilities
- Kitchen Operations & Supervision: Oversee day-to-day operations, including setting up workstations and maintaining flow during service. Assuring that planned menus are followed in accordance with the dietary guidelines. Attend the Board of Health inspections and provide professional actions.
- Staff Management & Training: Train, mentor, and schedule kitchen staff, promoting a team environment.
- Quality Control & Cooking: Ensure all dishes meet the chef’s standards for quality, taste, and presentation, Often, plating food or checking dishes before serving. Reviewing temperature documents are filled and holding at the proper temperature.
- Administrative Duties: Assist with menu creation, manage inventory, and order supplies.
- Troubleshooting: Act as the primary problem solver during busy service hours, stepping in to help if a cook is absent or overwhelmed.

- Culinary Expertise: Strong proficiency in all cooking techniques and stations.
- Leadership: Ability to lead, train, and motivate staff.
- Organization: Meticulous attention to detail regarding food safety and inventory.
- Communication: Effective communication between front-of-house staff and kitchen crew.
- Customer Service: Be able to handle resident and family questions and concerns appropriately.
