Purpose: The Paint Shop Operator performs masking, surface preparation, mixing, and application of aerospace coatings to produce products that meet engineering drawings, customer specifications, and company quality requirements.

· Prepare parts for painting through cleaning, masking, surface preparation, and fixture setup.
· Mix, apply, and cure primers, topcoats, and specialty coatings in accordance with approved procedures and manufacturer requirements.
· Verify coating coverage, appearance, and workmanship meet engineering drawings and customer specifications.
· Remove masking, clean finished parts, and prepare products for the next manufacturing operation.
· Perform basic in-process inspections and notify supervision of any quality or process concerns.
· Accurately complete production records and router signoffs for work performed.
· Safely operate paint equipment, spray guns, curing equipment, and related tools.
· Maintain paint booths, equipment, and work areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
· Follow all safety, environmental, AS9100, NADCAP, and company quality requirements.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
· Experience in industrial or aerospace painting preferred.
· Ability to read engineering drawings, work instructions, and product specifications.
· Familiarity with aerospace coatings, masking techniques, and paint application equipment preferred.
· Working knowledge of AS9100 and NADCAP painting requirements is a plus.
· Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with strong attention to detail.
· Basic computer skills for production documentation.
· High School diploma or equivalent.
Paint Shop Operator Authorities:
· Accept workmanship for operations performed.
· Sign off completed router operations.
· Stop work and notify supervision of quality or safety concerns.
Physical Requirements:
· Vision correctable to 20/20 for detailed inspections.
· Ability to stand for extended periods and regularly lift up to 40 lbs.
· Ability to wear required PPE, including a respirator, and successfully complete respirator fit testing.
· Ability to safely work with paints, solvents, and related chemicals.
