Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor II or higher to join our dynamic behavioral health team. Duties
- Conduct thorough clinical assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), and HIPAA-compliant documentation practices
- Develop individualized treatment plans incorporating evidence-based therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and group therapy
- Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions addressing mental health issues, substance use disorders, PTSD, and crisis management situations
- Implement crisis intervention strategies to stabilize clients experiencing acute behavioral health crises or trauma-related episodes
- Maintain accurate medical records, intake documentation, case management notes, and progress reports in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Utilize research and data collection methods to monitor treatment outcomes and improve clinical practices
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, including hospital staff, social workers, and community providers
Qualifications
- Valid licensure as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor II or higher (LCDC II or above) with current certification in good standing
- Proven experience in behavioral health settings with expertise in addiction counseling, mental health counseling, crisis intervention, and case management
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding for billing purposes, and medical records management
- Demonstrated skills in psychotherapy techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), applied behavior analysis (ABA), and trauma-informed care
- Experience working with diverse populations in home & community care environments as well as hospital settings preferred
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism while maintaining client confidentiality per HIPAA standards
- Excellent communication skills for intake assessments, patient education, and interdisciplinary collaboration
