Global History Teacher Position

Position Overview
BSNBCS High School seeks a dynamic and passionate Global History teacher for 11th grade for the upcoming academic year. The ideal candidate will inspire students to think critically about historical events and their impact on contemporary global issues while fostering a culturally responsive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement engaging curriculum aligned with New York State Social Studies Framework and Common Core Standards
- Prepare students for the New York State Global History and Geography Regents Examination
- Create and maintain a classroom environment that celebrates diversity and promotes inclusive learning
- Utilize data-driven instruction to differentiate learning and meet individual student needs
- Collaborate with department members and grade teams to develop interdisciplinary units
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and provide regular feedback
- Communicate effectively with families regarding student progress
- Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to school community initiatives
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in History, Social Studies Education, or related field
- Valid New York State certification in Social Studies (7-12)
- Strong content knowledge of world history, geography, economics, and civics
- Experience with or knowledge of culturally responsive teaching practices
- Excellent classroom management and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Education, History, or related field
- 2+ years of teaching experience in an urban school setting
- Experience with project-based learning and student-centered instruction
- Proficiency in using educational technology and digital learning tools
- Bilingual skills (Spanish/English) a plus
- Experience preparing students for Regents examinations

Pay: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
