Title: Chief Engineer

Position Summary
Embassy Suites by Hilton Austin Arboretum is seeking an experienced, dependable, and hands-on Chief Engineer to lead our Engineering team. As a full-service hotel, the Chief Engineer is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and preventive maintenance of the hotel's building, guest rooms, public areas, mechanical systems, and equipment while ensuring a safe, efficient, and well-maintained environment for guests and team members.
This position plays a key leadership role in maintaining Hilton brand standards, maximizing guest satisfaction, managing departmental expenses, and ensuring compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements.
Essential Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the Engineering Department.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for guest rooms, public areas, and hotel equipment.
- Maintain HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, life safety, and fire protection systems.
- Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests and operational issues.
- Supervise, train, schedule, and support engineering team members.
- Coordinate repairs with outside contractors and vendors as needed.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, fire, health, and local building regulations.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, inspections, and equipment records.
- Monitor departmental expenses and assist with budgeting and capital improvement projects.
- Perform routine inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces.
- Assist with hotel renovation, property improvement plans (PIP), and special projects.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Previous Chief Engineer, Assistant Chief Engineer, or hotel maintenance leadership experience required.
- Experience in a full-service hotel preferred.
- Hilton experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair hotel equipment and facilities.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Professional appearance and dependable work ethic.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Pay: From $70,000.00 per year
