Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for efficiently handling materials, operating heavy equipment safely, and supporting the seamless flow of goods throughout our distribution center. Your expertise in warehouse distribution, order picking, and heavy equipment operation will ensure that shipments are loaded, unloaded, and stored accurately and promptly. Duties
- Safely operate forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, cranes, and other heavy equipment to load and unload shipments.
- Conduct order picking using RF scanners and warehouse management systems to fulfill customer orders accurately.
- Assist with shipping and receiving processes by verifying inbound and outbound shipments and ensuring proper documentation.
- Perform materials handling tasks including heavy lifting, stacking pallets, and organizing inventory within the warehouse.
- Support warehouse distribution activities by loading and unloading trucks efficiently while maintaining safety standards in accordance with OSHA regulations.
- Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues and perform routine maintenance checks on forklifts and other machinery.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize storage layouts and improve overall warehouse operations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, clamp trucks, cranes or other heavy equipment in a warehouse or construction setting.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, and order picking procedures.
- Strong understanding of OSHA safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and materials handling.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic troubleshooting on equipment.
- Prior experience in shipping & receiving or warehouse distribution is highly desirable.
- Ability to lift heavy loads safely and consistently meet physical demands of the role.
