Overview
Jill's Creative Learning is seeking caring, dependable, and energetic Assistant Teacher to help provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for children. The Assistant Teacher will work closely with the Lead Teacher to support children's development through hands-on learning, play and daily routines while ensuring a positive classroom atmosphere. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on children’s lives while gaining valuable experience in early childhood education.
Duties
- Assist lead teachers in implementing age-appropriate activities that promote cognitive, social, and emotional development
- Supervise children during playtime, meals, naps, and outdoor activities to ensure safety and positive behavior
- Support classroom management by maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming environment
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding children’s progress, needs, and daily activities and coworkers.
- Follow all safety protocols including pediatric first aid and CPR, Blood pathogen, Safe Sleep procedures to respond promptly to emergencies
- Help with diapering, feeding, and basic caregiving tasks for infants and toddlers
- Support special education needs by adapting activities and providing individualized attention as required
- Follow all Michigan Child Care Licensing Rules and Jill's Creative Learning policies and procedures.
- Participate in required professional development and staff meetings.

- Strong communication skills for parent interactions and team collaboration
- Certification in first aid, CPR, and pediatric first aid preferred but not required; willingness to obtain if needed

- Understanding of mandated reporting laws to ensure compliance with child safety regulations
- Flexible and willing to assist where needed.
- Professional appearance and conduct.

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
