Non-Commercial vehicle operation:
- Clean driving records
- Have had license for at least 5 years
- experience driving 16-26 foot truck
- Safe driving and defensive driving techniques
- Long-haul trip planning and route optimization
- DOT and FMCSA compliance
- Electronic Logging Devices (ELD)
- Hours of Service (HOS) management
- Pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- Cargo securement and load verification
- Vehicle maintenance reporting
- Accident prevention and emergency response
- Must be reliable and able to be OTR weeks at time.
Operational Skills;
- GPS and dispatch communication
- Bills of lading and shipping documentation
- On-time pickup and delivery
- Fuel management
- Weight and axle compliance
- Backing and docking
- Reefer temperature monitoring (if applicable)
- Hazardous materials handling (if licensed)
Professional Skills:
- Time management
