Travel RN - Med/Surg Tele

Job Details

American Traveler is hiring a RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring an active KY or compact RN license and BLS certification.

30-bed medical surgical/telemetry unit specializing in telemetry patients and fast turnaround surgeries including urology, bariatrics, and orthopedic overflow
Serves Bariatric Center of Excellence patients
Patient population is mostly transferred from the ED and PACU
1st shift schedule, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
3 shifts per week at 12 hours per shift, totaling 36 hours weekly
0.9 FTE

Active, unrestricted RN license (KY or Compact)
Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
Annual Dysrhythmia Competency Validation required
ADN or ASN required, BSN preferred
No prior nursing experience required, though previous nursing experience is preferred
EPIC EMR experience required
Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety devices

Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document in accordance with RN scope of practice and hospital policy
Coordinate admission, transfer, and discharge activities including discharge teaching and care coordination with Case Management
Provide patient and family-centered education and individualized treatment planning
Delegate and oversee tasks performed by other care team members
Actively participate in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, falls prevention, and pressure ulcer/CAUTI monitoring
Promote a positive, healing environment through collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team
