Job Description:
As a Registered Veterinary Technician at Better Health Animal Hospital, you will support our veterinarians in delivering high-quality medical care, providing excellent patient care, inventory management and leading a team of veterinary assistants to ensure the smooth operation of our hospital.

36-40 hours / week
Schedule:
M-F: 8hr Shifts
Every other Saturdays 6 hr shift
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform and assist with physical exams, venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and sample collection
- Provide support during surgeries, including preparation and monitoring anesthesia for routine and surgical procedures
- Prepare examination rooms and surgical areas, ensuring they are clean and well-stocked.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and collect samples for analysis.
- Assist with dental prophylaxis, dental radiographs and oral surgery
- Obtain and process diagnostic imaging (radiographs, ultrasound prep)
- Inventory management - ordering medications, injections and supplies. Assist with quarterly audits.
- Administer medications and calculate drug dosages accurately
- Maintain accurate medical records and controlled substance logs
- Educate pet owners on general pet care, preventive health measures, and post-treatment care.
- Assist with front desk duties, including answering phone calls, scheduling appointments as needed, and checking in/out clients.
- Provide client education on discharge instructions, medications, and preventive care.
- Inventory management - ordering medications, injections and supplies. Assist with quarterly audits.
- Support a fear-free, low-stress handling environment.
Qualifications:
- Active RVT license in CA — required
- Minimum of 3 years of veterinary technician experience
- Strong anesthesia monitoring and surgical assistance skills
- Strong client communication and team collaboration
- Detail-oriented with accurate record-keeping habits
- Fear-free or low-stress handling experience a plus
- Interest and experience with brachycephalic breeds is a plus.
- Willingness to learn and contribute to the team
- A strong commitment to animal welfare and a desire to learn and grow in the veterinary field.
What We Offer:
- $30-$34/hr depending on experience and qualifications
- Monday–Friday, every other Saturdays. No on-call
