Duties
- Greet customers warmly and listen carefully to their vehicle concerns to provide exceptional service.
- Explain repair estimates, service recommendations, and vehicle diagnostics clearly and transparently.
- Utilize estimating software and auto service management tools to prepare accurate work orders and invoices.
- Upsell additional services such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake repairs, alignments, suspension work, or transmission repairs to meet customer needs.
- Coordinate with technicians regarding vehicle repairs, diagnostics, and estimated completion times.
- Handle cash transactions accurately and process payments efficiently.
- Communicate effectively with clients about vehicle status updates and repair progress, ensuring a positive experience.
- Assist in promoting dealership or shop services through proactive client engagement and automotive sales techniques.
Skills
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally.
- Automotive diagnostics knowledge combined with mechanical experience in areas like oil changes, brake repair, alignments, suspensions, shocks & struts, air brakes, diesel engine repair, transmissions, and collision repair.
- Experience with estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools for accurate service writing.
- Familiarity with dealership operations or automotive repair shops is highly desirable.
- Ability to upsell services confidently while maintaining integrity and customer trust.
- Mechanical knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures across various systems including tires, shocks & struts, suspensions, air brakes, and more.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for test drives or vehicle inspections if required.
- Sales aptitude combined with excellent client communication skills to foster long-term customer relationships.
