HR Assistant
Location: Sherwood, OR
Salary: $54,000–$58,000 DOE
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday
Who We Are:
We are partnering with a local manufacturing company that has been engineering, fabricating, and building equipment for the farming and logging industries for more than 50 years.
This company is proud to buy and manufacture its products in the United States and handles the entire manufacturing process in-house, including CNC machining, welding, fabrication, and assembly.
They are looking for an HR Assistant who is organized, approachable, detail-oriented, and ready to be an important resource for both employees and the HR team.
What You'll Do:
- Create, maintain, and organize employee HR files and documentation.
- Track employee absences, incidents, and other HR-related information.
- Assist with FMLA and employee leave administration.
- Support benefit administration and monthly benefit reconciliation.
- Provide documentation to vendors for STD, LTD, life, and disability claims.
- Assist with workers' compensation claims, documentation, and audits.
- Provide employee information for Affirmative Action and EEO-1 compliance reporting.
- Serve as a point of contact for employees with questions regarding benefits, policies, leave, and general HR matters.
- Assist Recruiting with scheduling applicants, coordinating interviews, job offers, and pre-employment exams.
- Coordinate employee training schedules and classes.
- Assist with HR audits, reporting, filing, and data entry.
- Participate in weekly HR department meetings and provide updates on current activities.
- Work closely with Payroll and other departments to ensure employee information is accurate and up to date.
- Jump in and support the HR department wherever needed.

What You Need to Have:
- Previous experience working within an HR department; 5+ years is preferred.
- Manufacturing and/or construction industry experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with employee benefits, FMLA, workers' compensation, and HR documentation.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Ability to communicate comfortably with employees and upper management.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when working with sensitive employee information.
- Comfortable working in a busy environment where priorities can change quickly.
