Overview
Do you have a true love for pets? As an independently contracted Pet Sitter with Compass Pet Sitting, you will be part of a unique, professional company committed to providing the highest quality of care for pets when their parents are away. Your hard work means that both pets and their parents have stress-free, pet sitting experiences.
Duties
- Respond promptly to booking requests, keeping Company staff apprised of sitting availability and preferences.
- Review detailed pet information obtained from pet parents by Company staff.
- Conduct meet & greets with pet parents and their pets prior to the start of bookings.
- Visit pets in their homes on an average of 1-3 times per day.
- Provide excellent care for pets during visits, which can include feeding, toileting, exercising, playing, providing companionship, and basic grooming.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the pets’ living areas.
- Do basic household routines such as turning lights on/off and bringing in mail.
- Give requested updates to the pet parents.
- Communicate with Company staff in a timely manner, sharing questions, additional information, concerns, and/or feedback about bookings.
Qualifications
- Reliability, maturity, and a flexible schedule
- Energy and physical ability to provide requested pet care
- Comfortable driving to homes in one or more of the following areas: South Suburban Cook County, Illinois; North Will County, Illinois, Lake County, Indiana; Porter County, Indiana
- Willingness to share via in-depth interviews one’s passion for pets and personal or professional experiences with them
- Ability to pass criminal background checks
- Can provide 3 references who can attest to your compassion for pets and ability to provide excellent care for them
- Complete with Company or provide proof of pet First Aid/CPR certification.
- Openness to learn the practices Compass uses to ensure that pets receive the highest standard of care
Pay: $21.00 - $28.00 per hour
