Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and safety-conscious Telehandler/Forklift Operator to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating various types of construction machinery, including telehandlers, forklifts, loaders, backhoes, excavators, and cranes, to facilitate efficient material handling and site logistics. Your expertise will ensure that materials are moved safely and accurately across the construction site, supporting project timelines and maintaining a secure work environment. Responsibilities
- Operate telehandlers, forklifts, and other heavy equipment such as loaders, backhoes, excavators, cranes, and dozers to move materials around the construction site efficiently.
- Conduct daily inspections and routine maintenance on all machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance.
- Follow all equipment safety procedures and occupational safety regulations to prevent accidents and injuries on-site.
- Handle materials with precision using hand tools and material handling equipment, ensuring proper stacking, loading, and unloading of supplies like concrete mixers, water trucks, dump trucks, tanker trucks, and farm machinery.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance activities, and safety checks in accordance with company policies.
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate the safe transfer of construction materials while adhering to project schedules.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) consistently and correctly during all operations to uphold safety standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating construction machinery such as forklifts, telehandlers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, cranes (including crane operation), dozers, front loader trucks, dump trucks, water trucks, roll-off trucks, tanker trucks or similar heavy equipment.
- Construction site experience is highly preferred; familiarity with concrete mixers and farm machinery is a plus.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) or equivalent certification for operating commercial trucks is required.
- Mechanical knowledge related to hydraulics, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting is essential.
- Ability to perform routine maintenance on construction machinery using hand tools and basic mechanical skills.
- Knowledge of safety regulations related to heavy equipment operation and occupational safety standards.
- Strong understanding of hydraulics systems and construction machinery maintenance procedures.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to follow detailed instructions clearly.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining a high level of safety awareness.
