Duties
- Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure.
- Provide catheter care and support for patients requiring specialized assistance.
- Assist in the administration of medications as directed by nursing staff.
- Support patients in behavioral health settings by implementing care plans and providing emotional support.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals in medical-surgical settings to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to emergency medicine and pediatrics.
- Document patient progress and report any changes in condition to nursing staff promptly.
Skills
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with Durable Medical Equipment (DME) is a plus.
- Knowledge of medical-surgical procedures and practices is beneficial.
- Proficiency in aseptic techniques to maintain infection control standards.
- Experience or exposure to teaching hospitals can enhance patient care delivery skills.
- Ability to accurately measure and interpret vital signs.
- Understanding of emergency medicine protocols for timely interventions.
- Skills in behavioral health support to assist patients effectively.
- Competence in catheter care procedures for patient comfort and safety.
- Basic knowledge of pediatric care principles is advantageous.
