American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Department position in Elizabethtown, KY, requiring BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, ENPC, and TNCC certifications.

Work setting is a hospital Emergency Department providing urgent and emergency medical care

Night shift schedule: 3:00 PM – 3:00 AM (3x12s)

36 hours per week

Weekend and holiday rotation required

13-week contract

Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky or a Compact state currently in hand

Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, ENPC, and TNCC

Minimum education: ADN or ASN (BSN preferred)

Previous nursing experience preferred

Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety measures

Must provide date of birth (MM/DD) and last 4 digits of SSN for consideration

Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessment, individualized care planning, patient and family education, and coordination of admission, transfer, and discharge activities

Delegates tasks appropriately and monitors the accuracy of care provided by other team members
-
Participates in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and CAUTI reduction
-
Nursing practice is evidence-based and incorporates all four phases of the nursing process with clinical autonomy within scope of practice

BSN is preferred but not required
