Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging and age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters a sense of community.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and support to ensure academic growth.
- Collaborate with colleagues, specialists, and parents to support student learning and address individual needs.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and technologies to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and behavior.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with educational best practices.
- Foster a safe and respectful classroom atmosphere conducive to learning and social interaction.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student progress and classroom activities.
- Adhere to district policies and procedures, including those related to student safety and confidentiality.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Valid state teaching certification for grades PK-6.
- Strong understanding of child development and effective teaching practices for young learners.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Proficiency in using technology and educational software to support teaching and learning.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment for all students.
- Experience in a classroom setting, preferably in a PK-6 environment, is highly desirable.
