Job Summary
Join our dynamic team as a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Truck Driver and take on the exciting challenge of transporting freight across diverse routes! In this role, you’ll operate a semi-truck Dry Van, ensuring timely and safe deliveries. Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailers and various commercial vehicles, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and tankers, adhering to all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and safety standards
- Plan and follow efficient routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery times and fuel consumption
- Load and unload freight with manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo is secured properly for transport
- Transport hazardous materials (hazmat) and dangerous goods in compliance with hazardous materials regulations
- Manage over-the-road (OTR) driving routes, maintaining communication with dispatch for route adjustments or updates
- Perform routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure truck safety and compliance with FMCSA regulations
- Document delivery details accurately, including load & unload records, delivery receipts, and logs in accordance with logistics cargo handling standards
- Maintain professional conduct while delivering excellent customer service during pickups and drop-offs
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving in various environments
- Hands-on experience with refrigerated trailers, flatbed trucks, tanker trucks, or other specialized equipment preferred
- Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route planning software for efficient deliveries
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols related to truck driving
- Experience loading/unloading freight manually or via truck loading/unloading equipment
- Ability to handle manual transmission trucks confidently and perform manual handling tasks safely
- Previous experience transporting freight over long distances or across multiple states is highly desirable
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL
- Minimum 2 years of CDL driving experience
- Clean driving record/MVR
- Background check required
- Valid DOT Medical Card
- Required DOT drug & alcohol testing, including pre-employment, random, and post-accident testing
- Ability to operate a 10-speed manual transmission
