American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 3+ years of experience for a night shift position at a 245-bed Level 3 Trauma Center in Cape Girardeau, MO.

Work in the Respiratory Unit of a 245-bed Level 3 Emergency and Trauma Center

Adult, pediatric, and neonatal patient population

Night shift, 1800–0630

Weekend and call requirements are as determined by facility needs

Floating required as determined by facility needs

13-week contract

RRT license required (license required if applicable)

Minimum 3 years of respiratory therapy experience
-
Minimum 1 year of recent experience in respiratory therapy specialty
-
Experience with adult, pediatric, and neonatal patient populations
-
Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and PALS
-
A valid U.S. Social Security Number is required; Canadian SINs are not accepted
-
No gaps in employment of 90+ days within the past 12 months
-
Flu vaccination or a Mercy-approved exemption is required for assignments between November 1 and April 1; declinations are not accepted

Performs direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory therapy according to physician orders
-
Consults physicians on the effectiveness of therapy and serves as an advanced resource for physicians and nursing staff on respiratory care matters

Critical care experience is preferred

Night shift candidates must be available for a full week of orientation, which takes place on day shift
-
Up to 5 days of requested time off (RTO) is allowed but must be made up during the assignment
-
Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are subject to local candidate billing terms
-
Local candidates within 50 miles are restricted to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts; after that, they must either separate from the facility for a minimum of 1 year or transition to a facility outside the 50-mile radius

Black scrubs are required; torn clothing, open-toed shoes, and non-scrub attire are not permitted

No expiring certifications within the first 30 days of assignment unless documentation of a scheduled renewal is provided

The facility holds Comprehensive Cardiac Center Certification and Primary Stroke Center Certification from The Joint Commission, a Missouri Level II Stroke Center designation, and a Missouri Level I STEMI Center designation
