Cue Barbecue
Position Summary
Cue Barbecue is looking for a dependable, hardworking Meat Person to support daily pit, prep, carving, and meat-handling operations. This role is responsible for preparing, cooking, cutting, portioning, and serving high-quality smoked meats while maintaining excellent food safety, cleanliness, and consistency standards. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a fast-paced kitchen environment, takes pride in great barbecue, and works well as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
· Prepare meats for smoking, cooking, slicing, chopping, and service according to Cue Barbecue standards.
· Operate and monitor smokers, warmers, carving stations, and other kitchen equipment safely and properly.
· Cut, trim, pull, slice, chop, and portion meats accurately for dine-in, takeout, catering, and prep needs.
· Maintain consistent food quality, flavor, temperature, and presentation throughout each shift.
· Follow recipes, portion guidelines, holding procedures, and timing standards to reduce waste and ensure consistency.
· Keep the meat station, pit area, prep tables, tools, and storage areas clean, organized, and sanitary.
· Follow all food safety, health, sanitation, and cross-contamination prevention procedures.
· Track product levels, communicate shortages, and assist with inventory rotation and waste control.
· Work closely with kitchen, line, and service team members to keep orders moving accurately and efficiently.
· Assist with opening, closing, cleaning, stocking, and other kitchen duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· Previous kitchen, barbecue, meat cutting, prep cook, line cook, or pit experience preferred, but not required for the right candidate.
· Basic knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper meat handling practices.
· Ability to follow recipes, written procedures, verbal instructions, and timing standards.
· Strong attention to detail, organization, cleanliness, and product quality.
· Positive attitude, reliable attendance, and willingness to work as part of a team.
· Ability to work efficiently during busy service periods while maintaining accuracy and quality.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during a shift.
· Ability to bend, reach, lift, carry, push, and pull as needed in a kitchen environment.
· Ability to lift and transport items up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
· Comfort working around heat, smoke, sharp tools, and commercial kitchen equipment.
Schedule and Compensation
Full-time and part-time schedules may be available. Evening, weekend, and holiday availability may be required. Compensation is based on experience, availability, and position needs.

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
