Experienced Construction Hand Needed
Southland Structures LLC is looking for a dependable, experienced construction hand to join our crew.
We are a growing company that takes on a wide variety of projects including post frame buildings, garages, roofing, siding, decks, fencing, remodels, and chimney work. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, learning new skills, and being challenged with something different from day to day.
You do not need experience in every area we work in. We are looking for someone with a good construction background who has experience in multiple trades and is willing to learn the areas they are not familiar with.
We need someone who can jump in, think through problems, and take pride in doing the job right. This is not a position where someone will stand over you all day telling you every step. We need someone who can take ownership of their work and be someone the crew can depend on.
What You Will Be Doing
Depending on the project, you may be:
- Framing buildings, garages, and additions
- Installing metal roofing and siding
- Building decks and fences
- Helping with remodels and repairs
- Installing doors, windows, and trim
- Assisting with chimney sweeping, inspections, and repairs during the fall and winter
What We Are Looking For
- Experience in multiple areas of construction
- Ability to solve problems and figure things out in the field
- Willingness to learn new skills
- Ability to research proper methods and building codes when needed
- Good communication with customers and coworkers
- Ability to work independently when needed
- Strong work ethic and pride in your work
Experience in framing, roofing, fencing, remodeling, siding, carpentry, chimney work, masonry, or concrete is a plus.
You are paid based on the value you bring to the company. The more skills you have and the more responsibility you can handle, the more valuable you become.
If you just want to clock in, do the minimum, and go home, this probably is not the right fit.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Able to lift materials and work outside in all seasons
- Comfortable working on ladders and roofs
- Dependable and ready to work
Pay
Starting pay is $200-300 per day depending on experience and ability. Higher pay is available for someone who can take on more responsibility.
